Online study room with friends

Focus
25:00

Studying alone is hard; studying next to someone who is also working is much easier. Create a study room above, send the link to your friends or classmates, and you all share the same Pomodoro timer: when one of you presses Start, everyone starts. You can see who is focusing and what they're working on, and send a quick cheer to keep each other going. It's free and needs no account.

How to study together online

  1. 1Create a roomOpen the Study room panel (the people icon in the toolbar) and press Create a room. You get a short room code.
  2. 2Share the linkCopy the link or share it to your group chat. Whoever opens it joins the room instantly, on any device.
  3. 3Start togetherAnyone can start, pause or skip the timer, and it changes for everyone in the room at the same time.
  4. 4Focus side by sideThe member list shows who is focusing, who is on a break and, if they choose to share it, their current task.
  5. 5Cheer each other onSend a 👏, 🔥 or ☕ during a break: it floats up on your friends' screens.

Why body doubling works

Working alongside someone else, even silently, is called body doubling. It is popular with students and with people with ADHD because the quiet presence of another person makes it easier to start and to stay on task. Study-with-me videos and library sessions work for the same reason.

A shared Pomodoro timer adds structure to that presence: everyone starts together, breaks together and comes back together. Nobody has to be the one who says "ok, back to work", the timer does it for the whole group.

  • Revise for an exam with classmates, even from different cities.
  • Keep a remote team in sync for a focus block without a video call.
  • Do homework next to a friend who keeps you accountable.
  • Run a study group or a writing club with timed sprints.

Private and simple

Rooms have no account, no profile and no chat to moderate. You pick a display name and an emoji, and the only things shared with the room are that name, whether you are focusing or on a break, and your current task if you leave that option on. Your tasks, stats and streak stay in your own browser, and every member earns their own pomodoros.

When you leave the room or close the tab, you disappear from the member list. The room code is random, so only people with the link can join.

How the Pomodoro timer works

Four simple steps. No account, nothing to install: it runs right here in your browser.

  1. 11

    Pick what to work on

Add a task and estimate how many pomodoros it needs. The active task is credited automatically when a session ends.

  2. 22

    Start the timer

Press Start (or the Space bar) and give the task your full attention until the bell rings.

  3. 33

    Take a real break

Step away from the screen for 5 minutes. Stretch, drink some water, rest your eyes.

  4. 44

    Repeat, then rest longer

After four pomodoros, take a longer 15–30 minute break. Your stats and streak update on their own.

Everything you need to focus. Nothing you don't.

A calm, distraction-free timer with the tools serious students and makers actually use.

Pomodoro, Flowtime & countdowns

Classic 25/5, 50/10 or your own durations, a count-up Flowtime mode and simple countdowns, exact even in background tabs.

Frequently asked questions

How do I create a study room?

Click the people icon in the toolbar under the timer to open the Study room panel, then press Create a room. Share the link that appears; anyone who opens it joins your room.

Is the online study room free?

Yes. Rooms are free, with no account, no ads and no limit on the number of sessions.

Can everyone control the timer?

Yes. The timer is shared: anyone in the room can start, pause, skip or change the preset, and it updates for everyone instantly.

Do my friends see my tasks and stats?

They see your display name, your status (focusing, break, paused) and your current task title if "Show my current task" is on. Your stats, streak and the rest of your task list stay private in your browser.

Is there a video or voice chat?

No, on purpose. The room is a quiet way to focus side by side. Use your usual call app alongside it if your group wants to talk during breaks.

Ready for your next focus session?

Your timer is waiting at the top of the page.
